Moonlight & Starlight Snowshoe Tours
One of the coldest, yet heartwarming things to do Bend in the winter is to enjoy a moonlight and starlight snowshoe tour through the Cascade mountains. Join a naturalist snowshoe guide to learn about the constellations, animal inhabitants of the forest and look for shooting stars. Tours run regularly from November to April on nights surrounding the full moon. Enjoy hot chocolate with marshmallows at the end of your tour.
Shrek The Musical
There’s always something happening at the Tower Theatre to satisfy the cultural palates of Central Oregonians and visitors to the area. Children and adults alike will enjoy laughing and singing along to the adventures of famed movie character Shrek. In Shrek The Musical, follow along as an ogre named Shrek and his sidekick Donkey try to rescue a feisty princess. Runs January 22-30.
Oregon Winterfest 2016
Oregon Winterfest is one of the biggest celebrations of winter in the state. When looking for things to do Bend in the Winter of 2016, plan to be here for Winterfest. Watch as more than 20 fire pits and fire sculptures blaze along the Deschutes River, the Metal Mulisha catches big air and regional, national and local bands take the stage. Don’t forget about the OMSI Kids Area, the marketplace, plenty of tasty food from local food carts and fine craft beverages. February 12-14.
Sisters Folk Festival 2016 Winter Concert Series
The Sisters Folk Festival is one of the most popular and highly anticipated musical events of the year in Central Oregon. Don’t worry, you don’t have to wait until September to enjoy fantastic folk music, as the Festival puts on a Winter Concert Series at Sisters High School. Check out bands such as The Wood Brothers and Bumper Jackson. On your way out to Sisters, stop by Cascade Village for dinner at one of our fine restaurants, including Shinsei Sushi, El Rancho Grande, Johnny Carino’s or Little Pizza Paradise.
