Bend wins 2015 Traveler’s Choice World’s Best Hotel
The list of things to do in Bend keeps growing.
With TripAdvisor‘s 2015 Travelers’ Choice Awards naming The Oxford Hotel #6 for the world’s best hotels now there is even more reason to visit this sunny town with crisp mountain air and over two dozen golf courses.
This chic downtown boutique hotel, just 3.5 miles from Cascade Village Shopping Center, offers 59 eco-friendly rooms. It’s centrally located to small clothing boutiques, microbreweries, and restaurants. And while the quaint downtown Bend is a must-see for visitors, Cascade Village Shopping Center offers even more open air shopping and dining. It’s a change of scenery just a few minutes away.
Bend was also recently voted by New York Times as #30 out of the top 52 places in the world to go in 2015. The bounty of outdoor activities, array of dining and lively arts scene is what draws visitors. It also keeps the locals never wanting to leave.
Just a glimpse of the many things to do in Bend include:
Snowboarding and skiing on Mt. Bachelor, swimming, paddle boarding or fly fishing on the Deschutes River flowing right through town, or world-class rock climbing at Smith Rock just outside of Bend.
Add to this, the friendly and notoriously laid back Bend vibe is unexpected, considering its numerous accolades for offering such high quality of life.
While Bend is an outdoor enthusiast’s playground, it is also a wonderful town to simply get away for more mellow activities. These include a relaxing stroll downtown, shopping, or a dinner out with friends, enjoying the Central Oregon sunset. You will never find yourself looking for things to do in Bend. But you might want to remind yourself to just stop and do nothing every once in a while and enjoy one of the many luxurious spas and movie houses.
Less than 5 miles from The Old Mill District and the Regal Old Mill Cinemas, Cascade Village Shopping center is the perfect destination to unwind. Maybe you need some pampering at Massage Envy after a long day of hiking. Relax with happy hour, meander in the bigger stores not found anywhere else in Bend, or indulge in some chips and salsa and margaritas at El Rancho Grande Mexican Restaurant.
